Jameis Winston Benched as Giants Transition to J.J. McCarthy

The New York Giants are moving away from Jameis Winston at quarterback, naming newly acquired J.J. McCarthy as the starter for Week 7 against the Houston Texans. The decision comes four weeks after McCarthy joined the team, with head coach John Harbaugh detailing the transition following Jaxson Dart's season-ending knee injury. Winston was replaced after fans overwhelmingly supported a switch to McCarthy's athleticism.
