Yovanny Cruz Brings 100 MPH Velocity to Nationals Bullpen Outlook

Washington Nationals reliever Yovanny Cruz features elite arm strength, averaging 99.8 mph on his 4-seamer and 100 mph on his sinker in 2026. Acquired in the Luis Garcia trade, Cruz posted a 5.06 ERA across 17 outings. While his low-90s slider boasts a stellar 118 stuff+ rating, his flat fastball shape presented challenges. Developing his new sinker and refining his 12.9% walk rate will be crucial for the flamethrowing right-hander to emerge as a reliable high-leverage weapon.
