Travis Sykora is a Wild Card for Washington Nationals in 2027

Washington Nationals top pitching prospect Travis Sykora is eyeing a 2027 return after undergoing Tommy John surgery in July 2025. Before the injury, Sykora dominated the lower minors with a 2.14 ERA and 208 strikeouts over 130.1 innings using a lethal fastball, slider, and splitter mix. Approaching full strength following summer bullpen sessions, he is Rule 5 eligible this offseason, creating roster complications, but projects as a high-upside reinforcement or future rotation anchor.
