Dakota Mermis Recalled By Toronto Maple Leafs

Dakota Mermis has been recalled from the AHL's Toronto Marlies by the Toronto Maple Leafs following injuries to Marshall Rifai and Nick Blankenburg. Mermis immediately got reps on the third pairing with Oliver Ekman-Larsson, a familiar partner from last season. The 32-year-old veteran has played 89 NHL games and is viewed as a mature, strong, and NHL-ready option to help shore up the team's blue line during their western Canadian road trip.
