Cole McWard Recalled By Toronto Maple Leafs From AHL

Cole McWard has been recalled from the AHL's Toronto Marlies by the Toronto Maple Leafs. The call-up comes as defenseman Marshall Rifai and Nick Blankenburg were both placed on IR due to injuries. McWard brings limited NHL experience with nine prior outings, including three with the Vancouver Canucks last year. Head coach Jim Hiller expressed confidence in McWard as the team fills gaps on the blue line ahead of their western Canadian road trip.
