Walter Clayton Jr. Signs Two-Way Contract with Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks signed former Iona and Florida guard Walter Clayton Jr. to a two-way contract ahead of their season opener. Drafted 18th overall in 2025 by Utah and later traded to Memphis where he averaged nearly six assists, the NCAA tournament star brings fearless shot-making, improved playmaking, and championship DNA to Dallas. Despite rookie shooting struggles, the Mavericks hope to maximize his potential alongside Cooper Flagg in their backcourt rotation.
