Ike Irish Overcomes Yips and Meniscus Tear in Stellar Season

After abandoning catching due to the yips, Orioles prospect Ike Irish enjoyed a brilliant 2026 breakout with High-A Frederick, posting a .286 average, 16 homers, 528 SLG, and 20 steals before a left meniscus tear ended his season on July 22. Selected to the MLB Futures Game, the #5 Orioles prospect has recovered fully and is currently impressing in the Arizona Fall League, hitting .353 through nine games with Peoria ahead of a projected Double-A jump in 2027.
