Jameis Winston Benched as Giants Transition to J.J. McCarthy

Jameis Winston has been moved back to a backup role with the New York Giants as head coach John Harbaugh named J.J. McCarthy the Week 7 starter. Winston initially won his first two starts after replacing the injured Jaxson Dart in Week 2, but two second-half interceptions in Week 6 led to the quarterback change. Harbaugh noted there are no guarantees in football, though McCarthy remains the plan going forward for New York.
