Kyrie Irving Held in Check by Trapping Rockets in Season Opener

Playing in his first regular-season game since March 2025, Kyrie Irving was hounded by aggressive defensive trapping from the Houston Rockets and held to 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting in the Dallas Mavericks' 128-110 loss. Despite finding some offensive rhythm alongside Cooper Flagg in the second half, Irving and the Mavericks struggled to overcome a massive 70-38 halftime deficit.
