Jhony Brito Could Contend for Padres Rotation Spot in 2027

Jhony Brito posted strong minor league numbers in 2026, recording a 2.97 ERA over 69.2 innings following his recovery from 2025 UCL internal brace surgery. At the major league level, the right-hander posted a 3.00 ERA and a 0.89 WHIP over nine bullpen innings while allowing two home runs. While limited by a deep San Diego bullpen, Brito could push for a spot in the Padres' starting rotation during 2027 Spring Training if he delivers more consistent results.
