Ramón Laureano Rehabbing Hip Surgery, Eyeing Prove-It Contract with Padres
Ramón Laureano spent most of 2026 on the injured list after undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right hip, an issue he battled for years. Before being sidelined in June, the 32-year-old outfielder hit .203 with a .660 OPS across 53 games. Laureano worked diligently during rehab in Arizona, and with free agency looming, the Padres may look to bring him back on a low-risk, prove-it contract to compete for left field in 2027.
