J.J. McCarthy Named New York Giants Starting Quarterback

The New York Giants are naming J.J. McCarthy their starting quarterback for Week 7 against the Houston Texans. McCarthy replaced the benched Jameis Winston in the fourth quarter against New Orleans, throwing for 243 yards, one touchdown, and one interception while nearly engineering a stunning comeback. Acquired last month from Minnesota, McCarthy steps in to spark an offense trying to maintain its NFC East lead after Jaxson Dart's season-ending injury.
