Cooper Black Set to Become Tallest Goalie in NHL History

Florida Panthers rookie Cooper Black is on the verge of making his NHL debut after being recalled from the AHL. Standing at an imposing 6-foot-8, Black will become the tallest goaltender in NHL history. He got the call after starting goaltender Jacob Markstrom suffered an upper-body injury expected to sideline him for 10 to 14 days. Black was never drafted into the NHL but signed an entry-level contract in April 2024 after playing two seasons at Dartmouth College.
