Ja Morant Serves as Preseason Wildcard for Trail Blazers Backcourt

Newly acquired guard Ja Morant enters the Portland Trail Blazers' opening night rotation as a wildcard amid a crowded backcourt. After acquiring Morant this offseason following suspension and injury-riddled years, Portland evaluates his fit alongside Damian Lillard and Jrue Holiday. Morant started the preseason opener, playing 19 minutes and scoring eight points, though recent three-point shooting struggles and defensive concerns create questions about his starting status.
