Dallas Mavericks Waive Veteran Center and Team Poet Dwight Powell

The Dallas Mavericks waived veteran center Dwight Powell after nearly 12 full seasons, ending his tenure as the team's longest-tenured player. Powell leaves Dallas averaging 7 points and 4 rebounds in 17 minutes, ranking in the franchise's top 10 in rebounds, top 5 in bench scoring, and top 5 in games played. Beyond his on-court stability spanning the Dirk Nowitzki, Luka Dončić, and Cooper Flagg eras, Powell departs as one of the NBA's few known poets, celebrated for his dedication to literature and community outreach.
