Jonathan India Heading to Free Agency After Season-Ending Surgery

Kansas City Royals infielder Jonathan India saw his 2026 season cut short after just 17 games (81 wRC+) due to a left labrum injury requiring surgery on April 28. India revealed he played through shoulder subluxations for five years. Acquired from Cincinnati for Brady Singer prior to 2025, India struggled with an 89 wRC+ in his first year and now enters free agency after back-to-back disappointing, injury-plagued seasons.
