Morez Johnson Set For Expanded Role With Mavericks

Drafted ninth overall out of Michigan, Morez Johnson enters his rookie season with the Dallas Mavericks looking to make an immediate impact through defense, rebounding, and physicality. With Dereck Lively II and Santi Aldama sidelined, Johnson is expected to see early minutes at the five. The Mavericks do not need him to run the offense, but rather to excel in dirty-work roles, set screens, and prove his defensive versatility against NBA competition.
