Ryan McMahon Named 2026 Yankees Team LVP After Career-Worst Season

Ryan McMahon endured a career-worst 2026 season with the New York Yankees, slashing .213/.279/.357 with 11 home runs, 41 RBIs, a 78 wRC+, and 0.5 fWAR over 124 games. Brought in for his Gold Glove defense, his play severely regressed, highlighted by a key Game 2 ALDS error. McMahon missed 38 games with a throat infection and Grade 2 thumb sprain while losing third-base reps to teammates. Owed $16 million in 2027, his future with New York remains uncertain following his poor output.
