Minkah Fitzpatrick Appeals Fines for Week 5 Player Safety Violations

New York Jets safety Minkah Fitzpatrick plans to appeal a $17,911 NFL fine for a hit on defenseless player KC Concepcion in Week 5, which caused Concepcion to suffer a concussion. Fitzpatrick was also fined $11,941 for a facemask tackle on Concepcion earlier in that game. The league fined six total players for safety fouls in Week 5, noting three violations of safety rules can trigger a one-game suspension.
