Phoenix Suns Waive Veteran Forward Haywood Highsmith

The Phoenix Suns have officially waived forward Haywood Highsmith ahead of the 2026–27 regular season. Highsmith, who carried a non-guaranteed contract through January 27, appeared in seven games for Phoenix last season after being claimed off waivers from Brooklyn, averaging 5.4 points in 13.0 minutes per contest. The decision creates roster flexibility and opens up wing minutes for younger prospects, while also addressing concerns regarding Highsmith's recovery from a previous meniscus tear.
