Austin Ekeler Cleared to Lead Commanders Backfield Versus 49ers

Washington Commanders running back Austin Ekeler carries no injury designation and has been cleared to play Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers despite dealing with a chest injury. With fellow rusher Bill Croskey-Merritt ruled out due to a re-injured groin, Ekeler is expected to head Washington's backfield workload alongside Rachaad White. Head coach Dan Quinn confirmed the team will lean on a combination of available backs to maintain their ground attack.
