Cole Payton Embraces Eagles QB2 Role Ahead of Week 6 Matchup

Philadelphia Eagles rookie quarterback Cole Payton is preparing as the primary backup behind Tanner McKee ahead of Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. With starter Jalen Hurts sidelined by a blood clot in his calf, the fifth-round pick out of North Dakota State is one injury away from making his NFL passing debut. Payton logged his first regular-season action last week, playing 10 special teams snaps against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
