Blake Grupe Takes Over as Los Angeles Rams New Placekicker

The Los Angeles Rams signed placekicker Blake Grupe off the New York Jets' practice squad to replace Harrison Mevis. Grupe, who converted all 11 field-goal attempts and 10 extra points with the Colts last season, enters a high-pressure situation on a struggling 2-3 Rams team facing special teams breakdowns. He had only two days to build chemistry with long snapper Joe Cardona and holder Ethan Evans ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Arizona Cardinals at SoFi Stadium.
