Jayson Tatum Expected to Suit Up for Opening Night Against Pistons

Jayson Tatum is expected to play in Tuesday's season opener against Detroit after sitting out Friday's preseason overtime win against Philadelphia for rest. Tatum returned from an Achilles injury last season to average 21.8 points, 10.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.4 steals across 16 regular-season games. With Jaylen Brown now in Philadelphia, Tatum enters the 2026-27 campaign as the Celtics' undisputed top offensive option and a primary MVP candidate.
