Ville Koivunen Capitalizes on Lineup Opportunity with Assist Against Avs

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Ville Koivunen stepped into the lineup on Friday against Colorado after being slated as a healthy scratch, filling in due to Egor Chinakhov's injury. Koivunen made an immediate impact by setting up Evgeni Malkin's first-period goal with a subtle pass to give Pittsburgh an early 1-0 lead. He also hit the post on a drive to the net and drew a third-period penalty. The productive outing marked one of Koivunen's strongest performances of the early season.
