Kirill Marchenko Nets Hat Trick in 300th Game as Leafs Fall in OT

Kirill Marchenko netted his fifth career hat trick in his 300th NHL game, though the Toronto Maple Leafs ultimately fell 5-4 in overtime to the Buffalo Sabres. The 26-year-old winger opened the scoring with a highlight-reel between-the-legs power-play goal in the first period, added a second tally in the second frame, and completed the hat trick with a one-timer. Despite Marchenko’s offensive outburst—his first multi-goal effort with Toronto—the Leafs surrendered a two-goal lead.
