Shane Baz Reflects on 2026 Season Despite Brutal Run Support

Baltimore Orioles pitcher Shane Baz finished 2026 with a 6-15 record despite a solid 4.11 ERA and 3.62 FIP, hampered by poor run support. Acquired from the Rays in a major prospect deal, Baz signed a five-year, $68M extension. He took a comebacker off his elbow in mid-September, leading the Orioles to shut him down for the final two weeks. Baz enters 2027 ready to lead the rotation without innings restrictions after logging 180 frames this year.
