Pete Alonso Misses Out on American League Gold Glove Finalist Spot

Baltimore Orioles first baseman Pete Alonso was not named a finalist for the 2026 Gold Glove Award, despite putting together a strong defensive performance in his first season with the club. Public defensive metrics analyzed by media outlets indicated Alonso ultimately fell short of deserving a top-three spot at the position. The American League first base finalists were Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Vinnie Pasquantino, and Christian Walker, with winners set to be announced on November 1.
