Grant Taylor's 2027 Role Undetermined by Chicago White Sox

Chicago White Sox general manager Chris Getz stated that the team has yet to decide whether Grant Taylor will pitch as a starter or reliever in 2027. While Getz believes Taylor will be a major-league starter eventually, the 24-year-old right-hander is coming off a stellar 2026 season logging a 2.25 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and 106 strikeouts over 84 innings as a reliever and occasional opener with 12 total saves. He will likely open next year as closer if he remains in the bullpen.
