San Francisco 49ers punter Corliss Waitman was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week after a stellar first half against the Seahawks, placing all five of his punts inside the 20-yard line. Three of those punts pinned Seattle inside their own 10-yard line, including one inside the 5. Waitman's exceptional directional kicking helped secure a 32-29 divisional victory before the 49ers punt-free second half.
