Daniil Tarasov Gets Starting Nod for Detroit Red Wings

Daniil Tarasov will start in goal for the Detroit Red Wings at home against the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday. Tarasov delivered an impressive 30-save shutout against the Montreal Canadiens on Oct. 10, though he ultimately took an overtime loss in the shootout. While he remains behind veteran John Gibson on the depth chart, stringing together more high-end performances could help the 27-year-old backstop earn increased playing opportunities going forward.
