Kyson Witherspoon Flashed Potential Before Right Shoulder Impingement

Acquired by the Baltimore Orioles in the Adley Rutschman trade, pitching prospect Kyson Witherspoon posted a 1.26 ERA over his first three starts for Frederick, striking out 20 batters in 14.1 innings and tossing five no-hit frames. Unfortunately, that gem was his final outing of the year; Frederick placed him on the injured list on August 26 with a right shoulder impingement. The 6-foot-2 righty is expected to fully recover by next season, offering a mid-90s fastball and strong secondary mix.
