Martin Necas Scores Twice to Lift Short-Handed Avalanche Over Stars

Martin Necas scored two goals, including a clutch 5-3 power-play tally, to lead the short-handed Colorado Avalanche to a 3-2 victory over the Dallas Stars. Necas restored Colorado's lead early in the second period with a one-timer off a feed from Nathan MacKinnon and then capitalized on a two-man advantage with four seconds left in the penalty. His multi-goal performance powered the Avalanche past a tough division rival in the opening game of their series.
