Dawuane Smoot Signing With New York Giants Practice Squad

The New York Giants are signing veteran defensive lineman Dawuane Smoot to their practice squad following a workout that also included Yannick Ngakoue and Julian Owkara. Smoot, 31, spent his first eight seasons with Jacksonville before playing in Buffalo and returning to the Jaguars last year. He appeared in all 17 games last season, totaling 23 tackles, five quarterback hits, and two sacks. He provides critical veteran depth for the Giants' pass rush.
