Daniel Laatsch Dealt to Sabres in Minor League Defensive Trade

Defenseman Daniel Laatsch was traded by the Pittsburgh Penguins to the Buffalo Sabres along with Caleb Jones in exchange for Ryan Johnson. Selected in the seventh round of the 2021 draft, the 23-year-old spent the majority of his 2025-26 rookie season with ECHL Wheeling while appearing in 10 AHL games for Wilkes-Barre. Laatsch has yet to play in the 2026-27 season and will add defensive minor-league depth to Buffalo's organization.
